Que Pasa Sugar Bear!
Who am I and what is Draco Comics? I am the guy whose artwork you've seen on
t-shirts, in newspapers and magazines and all the while saving or making whoever
I work for a lot of money. Alas, I get little to no credit. (No I'm not bitter,
why?)
Draco
Comics is made up of 3 sections and 3 artists. Two of the sections contain continuous
stories the third is just random ideas and jokes. One section is written and
drawn by my brother Mark Smith called "Bigfoot
Country." Another section is written and drawn
by me, Michael Smith; it is also a continuous story. My section is called "What
a Squirrel Wants." The third section is our
wild card called "Scratch Pad" by
Mark Smith and Art Falcon. One month it maybe just a bunch of one panel cartoons
and the next month we may have some short three page stories. One never knows.
I do know that one will read the stories and go 'Ha!' and on occasion 'Ha! Ha!'
The
three of us (Michael Smith, Mark Smith and Art Falcon) are all seasoned artist
in our field. I have wanted to do comic books for years. I approached my brother
that if I started my own comic book company would he contribute some art work.
Hurrah! He said yes!! I also talked to a very funny and scruffy artist I met
at Joe Muggs café named Art Falcon. He currently works at a University
as their art director and we share very similar funny stories. I have great artist
working with me. I take care of the technical and business aspects of the company.
So off we go.
Over the next four months you can see our first four issues here on this web
site www.dracocomics.com. For a complete schedule go to the schedule aspect
of our site. We are putting the issues on the web so hopefully by December enough
people will find out about us and tell their friends, so you can buy our comics
off the shelves come January.
I want to dedicate this first issue to my very beautiful and wonderful wife Melinda.
She mowed the lawn many Saturdays so I could finish this issue. She helped me
so much in getting this completed in time I can't say thanks enough. I love you
Melinda.
I also want to thank Emily Mills and Brittany Gibson from Books-a-Million they
helped me come up with ways teachers are mean to students. I also want to apologize
to friends and family who asked me to hang out with them and I had to say no
so I could finish this issue.
Read us You'll Laugh!!
